Day 1: Arrival in Shimla | Transfer to Chitkul, the Last Inhabited Village on Indo-Tibetan Border

Upon your arrival in Shimla, you will meet your driver for the transfer to Chitkul, which is known as the final inhabited village before the Indo-China border. The drive itself is an experience, taking you through a constantly changing landscape that shifts from dense forests to open meadows, and from vibrant apple orchards to rugged mountain terrain. You will pass through Sarahan and Rampur Bushahr en route. After reaching Chitkul, you can enjoy a meal at the famous ‘Hindustan ka Akhri Dhaba’. Finally, check-in to your hotel or homestay for your overnight stay.

Day 2: Chitkul to Nako | Spin the 500-Year-Old Prayer Wheel Made of Yak Skin at Nako

After checking out from your accommodation in Chitkul, your driver will take you on to Nako, a village nestled near the Indo-China border in the Trans-Himalayan region. You will travel through the beautiful Kinnaur Valley, and along the way, you’ll get to see the stunning meeting point of the Spiti & Satluj Rivers from the Khab Bridge. Once in Nako, check in, and your driver will then take you for local sightseeing. Explore the peaceful Nako Monastery and spend the evening relaxing by the serene Nako Lake. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Nako to Kaza and Local Sightseeing | Walk the Artistically Painted Rooms at Key Monastery

Following check-out, your driver will pick you up and head towards Kaza, the picturesque capital town of Spiti. You will cross Sumdo and take a brief detour to visit the Gue Village, which is home to the remarkable 500-year-old mummy of a monk. The journey continues to Tabo Monastery, famously dubbed the ‘Ajanta of the Himalayas’. Next, you’ll continue your drive towards the Pin Valley National Park, where you might have the opportunity to spot the elusive Snow Leopard. Finally, reach Kaza and check-in to your hotel or homestay for an overnight stay

Day 4: Sightseeing Around Kaza | Send Out Postcards Stamped at the Top of the World

Your driver will pick you up from your hotel for a full sightseeing tour around Kaza. The day begins with a visit to Komik, recognized as Asia's highest village. From there, you will travel down to Hikkim to explore the world's highest post office. The tour continues to Langza Village to visit the Lang Temple. Next, you will visit the visually stunning Key Monastery and proceed to the charming Kibber Village. The day concludes with a visit to the impressive Chicham Bridge, after which you will return to your hotel for another overnight stay in Kaza.

Day 5: Kaza to Kalpa via Dhankar | Marvel at the Majestic Kinnaur Kailash Peak

After checking out, your driver will take you from the hotel for your transfer to Kalpa. En route, you’ll take a short diversion to visit the majestic Dhankar Monastery. Your journey continues towards Kalpa, turning right from Powari towards ReoKong Peo, which is the main administrative town of the Kinnaur district. Upon reaching Kalpa, you can enjoy the spectacular view of the Kinnaur Kailash Peak before checking in to your camp or homestay for the night.

Day 6: Kalpa to Shimla | Take Back Memories from the Enchanting Spiti Valley

Check out from your camp or homestay in Kalpa and meet your driver who will transfer you back to Shimla. You will travel along the winding roads that follow the Satluj River, passing through rich Deodar forests before finally reaching the state capital. You will head home with a bagful of incredible memories from the enchanting Spiti Valley.

    Know Before You Go - +
    • Consult a physician before undertaking the tour. Carry basic medications and a first-aid kit during the tour.
    • It is recommended to carry enough warm clothes and the right kind of shoes for the tour. The advisable baggage weight is 60 litres as you might have to carry the luggage to the backup vehicle, the accommodation, etc
    • Rates may fluctuate with any change in services/hotels. The difference in the cost shall be borne by the client in case of any amendment in the package due to an increase in the number of guests, hotel change, etc., before the beginning of the trip
    • The hotels are subject to their availability. In case they are not available, the travellers will be accommodated in a property of similar standard
    • Wanderlust India Travels reserves the right to rearrange the itinerary due to any kind of disturbance that occurred (i.e weather condition, political condition or any others) without changing the total number of days and without compromising any service
    • Liability for change in itinerary due to reasons beyond our control like a change in flight and train schedule, cancellation of flights/trains, political disturbances, natural phenomenon, roadblocks, etc. will not be accommodated in the package cost. No bill will be reimbursed for any missed service/facility.
    • Pay heed to the tour guides and instructors in order to enjoy a safe and sound tour.
    • All entry tickets for stupas, monasteries, sightseeing, state and entry fees, monument entrances, camera charges, permits, etc. are not a part of the package.
    • GST is applicable to the package cost.
    • Any personal expenses or items of personal nature will not be included in the package. Any meals or transfers not mentioned in the itinerary are to be considered an exclusion in the deal. Any kind of drink (alcoholic, aerated, or mineral water) is not included in the package cost.
    • Any breakage or damage of any items in the resort will be charged at actuals.
    • Carry enough cash as the number of ATMs in high-altitude regions are comparatively less and there are long queues at times.
    • All the travellers are requested to carry a copy of their medical certificate (if any) with them.
    • Transportation during the trip would be in Non AC & Non-Heater vehicles. Please wear clothes according to the weather while travelling.
    • If in case any traveller wants to or decides to leave the trip in the middle, all the expenses from that point onwards will be borne by the traveller. Neither the operator nor Wanderlust India Travels will be held responsible for such decisions or for any refund.
    • Guidelines issued by the State-Government are to be followed. Social distancing to be maintained. Frequent hand sanitization and use of masks recommended.
    • Climatic conditions in the high altitudes vary from the plains; it is advisable that you take adequate time to get acclimatized to high altitudes.
    • ID proof is mandatory for each individual guest at the time of booking, and also upon arrival. PAN card will not be considered as a valid address proof.
    • Minimum 2 people are required to book Spiti Valley Tour Package from Shimla.
    • Because of any reason natural or personal, if the tour or a particular activity is not completed, no refund will be processed.
